I am so excited to debut the new "solo" format of our Inspiring Women blog post series! We decided that featuring one woman per post would allow for even more inspiring revelations from the women in our communities - enjoy!
Today we are featuring Catherine Lang-Cline. She is the President and Co-Creator of Portfolio Creative in Columbus, Ohio. Portfolio Creative serves both creative individuals looking for work and businesses who are looking for creative talent for their team. If you are looking for a web designer, photographer, stylist, app developer or creative project manager, Portfolio Creative has you covered!
Catherine is also the President of the Columbus NAWBO chapter. NAWBO stands for "National Association of Women Business Owners", which I am proud to say I joined this year. NAWBO was founded in 1975 and now has over seven thousand members and 70 chapters across America. NAWBO is a " one-stop resource to propelling women business owners into greater economic, social, and political spheres of power worldwide". It's worth mentioning that the Columbus NAWBO chapter is the largest in the country!
Ok, it's time to get to know Catherine a little better in our fun fact lightening round! I had the opportunity to ask her the following questions:
Three words to describe you: driven, strategic, inclusive
Three words that describe your style: tailored, modern, rock-n-roll
How did you get started in your business? My business partner wanted someone to help her with this idea she had. I had fluttered about for years as a graphic designer as a freelancer and in corporate roles. This was just going to be something new I could try out.
What is a current project you are working on, or what's "next" for your business? Portfolio Creative has been rolling for 13 years now and it has given me the opportunity learn, develop, and to truly give back. This has all evolved into growing more into board work, public policy, public service, and mentoring whenever I can.
Coffee or Tea: Tea
Favorite Beach: Any
Favorite Charity: Can't pick one as the first one is my husband's non-profit, VetMotorsports. Second, Greater Columbus Arts Council, I'm on their Board.
When was the last time you gave someone a hand-written note? One week ago. One of my favorite things to do.
