Hey Beauty,
If you're like me, anytime I wear something white or light colored, 98% of the time I get something on it. It could be a coffee spill or salsa that falls off my tortilla chip, the opportunities are endless for me to be walking around with "junk" all over my clothes. Never fear! We have rounded up some stain-busting solutions to some of the most common stain "saboteurs". Your clothing will be back to looking it's best in no time.
1. Grass Stains
What you'll need:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Clean Rag
- Laundry Detergent
- Baking Soda
- Toothbrush
Pat the stain with rubbing alcohol and a clean rag. Let air dry, then come back to the stain later. After it is dry, pour laundry detergent on the stain followed by baking soda. Scrub the stain with a toothbrush. Then run through a normal wash cycle. Do not put in the dryer until the stain is completely gone as heat will set the stain! * This applies to all stains.
2. Coffee
What you'll need:
- Vinegar
- Clean Rag
- Baking Soda
- Toothbrush
Pour vinegar on the stain, blot the vinegar into the fabric. Pour a generous amount of baking soda on the stain, then pat down with fingers and let sit for 15 minutes. Apply more vinegar on top of the baking soda after 15 minutes and scrub with a toothbrush. Let sit an additional 10 minutes and then rinse. Lastly, run through a normal wash cycle in your washing machine*.
3. Wine
What you will need:
- Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Toothbrush
Pour vinegar on the stain, let sit for 15 minutes. Then pour baking soda on top of the stain and scrub with a toothbrush. When finished, wash on a normal cycle in your washing machine*.
4. Paint
What you'll need:
- Rubbing Alcohol
- Toothbrush
- Dry Sponge
Pour Rubbing alcohol on the dry paint stain. Take a toothbrush and scrub the paint in a circular motion. Then take a dry sponge and rub one direction. Repeat as needed and then do a final wash in your washing machine on a normal cycle*.
5. Wax
What you'll need:
- White Paper or Paper Towels
- Iron
Lay the paper or paper towel on the stain, set the iron to warm. Set the iron on the paper and let the wax become absorbed into the towel. Be sure not to let the iron sit too long on the paper towel, approx 1-2 minutes. Repeat as needed until all the wax is gone. Lastly, wash in your washing machine on a normal cycle*.
Bonus!! 3 ingredient carpet stain remover
What you'll need:
- 2 parts white vinegar
- 2 parts water
- 1 part dish soap
- Empty bottle to mix the above ingredients in.
Apply the stain remover mixture liberally to clean towel and then blot the stain with the towel. Then pour a small amount of water on the carpet and blot with another clean towel to absorb the moisture. Let carpet dry before walking on.
So eat, drink, and be merry....those stains ain't got nothin' on you, literally!
With Love,
Jackie
