Fall for most of us can mean "rollercoaster" weather. Cold in the morning, warm then by lunch. Add in some wonky air-conditioning in the office or even some over-zealous heat blasting above your desk. Your best friend will be layers that will keep you warm and cozy during those cold moments and then you can take off during a heat wave.

How to Layer for Fall

  1. Start with lightweight top. Try to find something neutral or an easy, simple print like a dot, stripe, etc.
  2. Add the next layer a cardigan or sweater. This is where you should add color, the fall hues are perfect!
  3. Then add a heavier jacket or coat. Try: beige, black, navy, olive green.
  4. Add a pop of color with an infinity scarf or oversized scarf
  5. Add accessories like a fun metallic shoe, or a stack of bangles, but there's no need to go overboard. Let your pop of color be the star of the show.

Other Layering Tips

  • Keep the under-layers more fitted to keep your shape looking slim.
  • Wear texture, try a mix of materials when styling a layered look.
  • Find leggings or tights that will extend the life of your summer dresses.
  • Extend your sandal season/open toed shoes as long as you can, long layers and sandals can partner together nicely.

Dyetology Layering

Long Sleeve Knotted Tee, Perfect to go as the base layer to your outfit. It makes a great layering piece to add a sweater or jacket to.  Then throw on a solid colored scarf or statement necklace.

Shawl Scarf, Great for the pop of color. Add to a solid shirt, colored sweater and solid colored jacket. It is a great accessory that doubles over as a shawl and then as a scarf when the weather is nice.

Infinity Scarf, as we mentioned above, an infinity scarf is great way to add a pop of color to any outfit. And they are so easy to wear, just twist and go. We call them the "Easy Button" of scarves.

I hope these layering tips will keep help you navigate the ups and downs of Fall's transitional temps!

With Love,

Jackie
