About Dyetology

Dyetology is a line of unique, hand-dyed accessories and apparel using natural fibers (Cotton, Linen, Rayon, Bamboo, Silk) founded and designed by me, Jackie Ayres.

Jackie Ayres - Owner and Designer of Dyetology

Who is Jackie Ayres and How Dyetology Began

I want to live in a world where natural fibers rule the day, love and self-acceptance take center stage, and comfort is a way of life.

As a fashion designer for Lane Bryant, Bath & Body Works and Thirty-One Gifts, I designed everything from casual wear and denim, to accessories and handbags. During my 17-year corporate career, I traveled the world, won awards for my design work, and had the honor of leading talented design teams.

Dyetology was born out of my love for color, hand-dyeing and wanting to give women one-of-a-kind clothing that not only looks beautiful, but also feels so good, you won’t want to take it off.

When I am not working on Dyetology, you can find me spending time with my husband, son, and two boxers. Health and wellness is also a priority and enjoy being active most days and reading/listening to health podcasts. My other 2 "obessions" are anything true crime and Pearl Jam!

Why Hand-Dyed? Why Hand-Made?

There’s a lot of “stuff” out there to buy. We have many “ready” made items in our lives to choose from. I want you to feel special every day when you put on one of our unique, one-of-a-kind pieces. Hand-dying guarantees a unique outcome every time-no two pieces will be the same. I want your Dyetology item to be something you will cherish and keep in your closet for many years to come.

Where Does Your Item Come From?

You can feel good about your purchase as each item has been thoughtfully and carefully made in the USA in our Columbus, Ohio studio. We use fabrics sourced in the US whenever we can. This is a "hand-made" operation, meaning nothing is automated. We think it's worth paying more for goods made in the United States when that means the person making it was paid a fair wage and treated with dignity and respect. What's So Special About Our Products?

We use high-quality natural fiber materials. Why? Natural fibers take the dye amazingly well and as a result, the colors are rich and vibrant. Quality is important to us that is another reason why we use natural fibers-natural fibers are breathable, durable, and feel better wearing them. We use fabrics that feel so good on your body, you won't want to take them off! In addition, we use permanent, professional grade dyes, chemicals, and detergents for durability and longevity of the item. Each piece is unique and one-of-a-kind.

Each one is uniquely created for you. No one else will have one like yours. And our pieces are really really soft! They feel yummy on. Don't take just our word for it, see what others are saying here.
